As Founder and President of Shields Insurance, Matthew is a high-energy professional with an absolute drive to create as much value for his clients. He started Shields Insurance to be able to offer his clients personalized solutions in addressing their insurance needs as well as to provide the highest level of ongoing customer service which is often absent in the industry. His primary focus is guiding his clients through a consultative approach in providing high-quality employee benefits solutions, insurance, and estate planning.Born and raised in the Palm Beaches and a graduate of Florida Atlantic University, Matthew continues to call West Palm Beach home with his wife, Laura, and their sons Zane & Bennett. They enjoy traveling as time allows, golf, tennis, family, and serving the community.

Finance Director

Laura, a native of Colombia, is a truly diverse individual. Having experienced life in three different countries, she possesses a unique and expansive perspective on the world. Currently holding the position of Finance Director at Shields Insurance, Laura's true passion lies in helping others. Whether it's through her work, volunteering, or lending a helping hand to those in need, she is always eager to make a positive impact.Fluent in both Spanish and English, Laura is a highly educated individual, having earned a bachelor's degree in Communications and a master's degree in Business Administration from Florida Atlantic University. In addition to her professional achievements, Laura is also a certified notary. She resides in West Palm Beach with her loving husband and two beautiful children. In her free time, Laura enjoys swimming with her kids and participating in sports like golf, volleyball and tennis.

Executive Assistant

As a cherished addition to Shields Insurance, Kasandra contributes her tech-savvy expertise, affinity for numbers, and helpful nature to the team. Hailing from Miami, she earned a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a focus on Finance and Management from Florida International University.Fluent in both English and Spanish, she holds a profound admiration for her family and Colombian roots. In her leisure moments, she delights in spending time with her niece, indulging in movies and shows, and partaking in the joy of swimming.
